Christmas 2008

What a blessed Christmas we had today! A wonderful time was had by all as we celebrated the birth of Jesus. Time with family is always a treasure and today we were indeed rich! We began our day around 6:45 am opening presents and seeing what Santa left during the night. Eli and Max were excited to see just what they had asked for. Eli, a 20 gauge shotgun, Max, a Nintendo DS and Oki, a play kitchen! Oki was so fascinated with her kitchen that we could hardly get her to open her presents.

Grammie and Uncle Matt came by to bring presents and check ours out.

Next, we were off to Aunt Missy and Uncle Terry's house for breakfast. (Thanks Aunt Missy for preparing such a great breakfast!) For lunch we zoomed down to Blue Springs to have lunch with the Russells. Pa and Granny Russell were so gracious to prepare a great Christmas lunch for us.

After lunch, we headed back home to rest (the children) and prepare (me) for our get together with the Carnley family tonight. We enjoyed our usual abundance of food with my family...including my famous banana pudding and Perfect Chocolate Cake. Although, I must admit that my cake was a complete disaster and I almost threw it out because I made a COMPLETE mess while icing it. Enter: Wayne the cake saver...needless to say, Wayne rescued the cake and all was well.

Have I said what a wonderful husband I have lately? He has helped out so much today and really contributed to our day going so smootly!

As has become a tradition at the Carnley gathering, we played Dirty Santa. This is a lively game and is greatly anticipated by all each year. There is much scheming and manipulating (in a good natured sort of way) in our version of this game.

My siblings: Chandra, Missy, Rusty, and Gail...

With my Princess...

Our sweet Blessings!

What a wonderful day we had celebrating with family. Hopefully, you had a great day too!
Merry Christmas!

Hello Russell family! Wow! What a small world! It is so amazing that we could connect this way. I pray God's blessings on you and your family as you minister, work, and go to school. By looking at your blog links, it looks like we know a lot of the same people. Amazing!
